How to Grow Your Instagram in a Few Hours/Week

Commit to Posting Every Day
First let’s, Put a ring on Instagram’s finger because you’ll need to make the lasting commitment to posting at least once every day to see radical Instagram growth.
Posting every day not only fills your own feed with brand new beautiful content but also helps you stay visible in your followers’ Instagram feeds so you don’t get lost in the shuffle (or should we say the scroll?)
Now that you know it’s important to first commit, then comes the plan.
Plan Your Instagram Grid in Advance
You have a content calendar for your blog and other marketing platforms for your business. It’s time to create a calendar for Instagram too, one that’s as wonderful to look at as it is to use.
When planning for Instagram, you have to start with the visuals. I recommend Planoly for planning out your Instagram grid in advance because of its visual layout and scheduling functionality. It’s the best of both words! My favorite feature is the ability to drag and drop images to get the perfect look for your grid before you post.
Not only can you plan how your Instagram grid will look but you should also write all of your captions ahead of time. This saves you from that dreaded What do I say? feeling before you publish your scheduled Instagram post. It not only saves you time but also allows you to post on-the-go with captions that flow and a well-planned out CTA.
Create a Library of Photos
Ever look at your phone’s camera roll thinking I have nothing left to post? I’ve totally been there, even as a photographer. What helps is if you take photos of things that catch your attention or inspire you throughout the week so you continue to build up your photo library.
There’s a myth we commonly fall prey to in the wedding industry that we have to post our photos instantaneously, but that just isn’t true. It’s better to build your library of photos so you can pull from it in future months when you start to refresh and plan your grid again.
My favorite photo library hack is creating folders in Dropbox so you can instantly access them from your desktop, phone, and tablet. Having your photos all in one place and accessible anywhere makes posting to Instagram super simple!
Take 15 Minutes/Day to Interact with Others
Resist the urge to just post your Instagram photo and close the app for the rest of the day. Social media is meant to be social so you must make time for interacting with followers and other Instagram users. Of course, to create engagement means you have to be engaging.
You can do this by commenting on suggested user accounts, scrolling through popular hashtags in your industry and commenting on recent posts, and of course replying back to all comments you received on your own photos.
Also, make sure your comments are actually starting a conversation. No one knows how to reply to “Nice post!” We’re not saying you have to write like Shakespeare but put a little bit of thought into your response. It’ll help you stand out from the bot accounts that only comment with irrelevant emojis… *eye roll*
Know Your Hashtags
One of the quickest, easiest ways to grow your Instagram is by using the right hashtags.
You can literally copy and paste your way to Instagram success. Yes, please!
Instagram lets users post up to 30 hashtags. Shout out to Planoly because it tells you how many hashtags you have left in your post so you’re sure to use all 30. It will also suggest popular hashtags as you type so you can quickly increase your influence.
Take advantage of this hashtag count by copy and pasting your hashtag list in the comment section of your photo. This is so your audience doesn’t see a huge block of hashtags in your caption.
I like to have a list of hashtags in my Notes app so it’s easy to copy and paste them whenever I post a new Instagram photo. Trust me, it’s a huge time saver!
Also, when you use the right hashtags, you’ll increase your chance of being featured as a Top Post on Instagram. With the new Instagram algorithm, Top Posts are chosen by engagement, not follower count. This means that the higher your engagement (aka your ratio of likes and comments as compared to your number of followers), the better chance you have at being featured.
Continually being featured as a Top Post for popular hashtags in your niche is a great way to increase your visibility but also increases your chance of ideal couples finding your profile and opting in for your CTA.

Post at Your Most Optimal Times
There are SO many infographics out there about what times are best to post on Instagram but it doesn’t matter what works for anyone else. What matter is what works best for you.
When you have an Instagram business account, you can easily go into your Analytics and look at your Insights. Scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see a bar graph that indicates what hours of the day your Instagram engagement is at its highest. This tell you when your audience is most active (aka when you should post!)
Really, it’s that simple. You can also use Instagram Business Analytics to see how your Instagram profile is performing with metrics like reach, impressions, total engagement, and beyond.
